PRIVACY POLICY
Case Value Assessment™ (“CVA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a service of the Mid-Atlantic Law Project, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through casevalue.co (the “Site”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you.
Information We Collect
Case Details: accident type, state, injury severity, treatment history, and similar facts you enter into the calculator.
Financial Information: medical expenses, lost wages, property damage, and any current settlement offer you choose to share.
Contact Information: your name, phone number, email address, and ZIP code, if you choose to request your results or a case evaluation.
Technical Information: standard website analytics such as pages visited, browser type, and general location, collected automatically by our hosting and analytics tools.
How We Use Your Information
To generate your estimated case value and any accompanying summary or report.
To contact you, where you have consented, regarding your case and possible next steps.
To evaluate whether your matter is appropriate for referral to an independent, licensed attorney.
To maintain and improve the accuracy of the calculator and the Site generally.
How Your Information Is Handled
Unlike tools that process everything locally in your browser and discard it, Case Value Assessment is built around connecting you with help — which means the information you submit is transmitted to and retained by us so that it can be reviewed and, where appropriate, acted upon. We do not use your information to build an advertising profile, and we do not sell it to data brokers or marketing companies. It is used solely for the purposes described in this policy.
Cookies and Analytics
The calculator itself does not rely on advertising cookies or third-party trackers to function. We use limited, standard analytics tools to understand general site usage (such as which pages are visited) so we can improve the Site. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Service Providers
We use third-party service providers — including our website hosting provider and any consent-verification or form-processing tools we employ — to operate the Site. These providers process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own independent purposes.
Sharing Your Information
If you submit your contact information and consent to be contacted, we may share your case details and contact information with one or more independent attorneys or law firms for the purpose of evaluating whether they may be able to represent you. We will not share your information for referral purposes unless you have provided the consent described on this Site.
No Sale of Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers, marketing companies, or data brokers. Information you provide is used only to generate your evaluation, communicate with you regarding your submission, improve our services, and, where you have consented, facilitate a possible attorney referral.
Consent to Contact (TCPA Disclosure)
By submitting your contact information through this Site, you give your prior express written consent, as defined under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (47 U.S.C. § 227) and applicable regulations, to be contacted by Case Value Assessment™, the Mid-Atlantic Law Project, and any attorney or law firm to whom your matter may be referred or shared, by telephone (including automated or prerecorded calls), text message, and email. These communications may relate to your case evaluation, your submitted information, available legal resources, follow-up questions, and the possibility of legal representation or a free attorney consultation. Message and data rates may apply.
Your consent to be contacted does not obligate you to hire any attorney, accept any referral, or purchase any legal services. You remain free to choose any attorney or law firm of your own choosing.
Consent is not a condition of using the free portions of this Site, including its educational content, methodology pages, and settlement data references. However, if you would like to receive your personalized evaluation, discuss your results, or be considered for an attorney referral, we require your consent to contact you regarding those services.
You may revoke your consent at any time by replying STOP to any text message, using the unsubscribe link in any email, or contacting us using the information provided in Section 12. We will honor revocation requests within a reasonable time, consistent with applicable law.8. Data
Retention
We retain your information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including any period needed to support a referral or satisfy recordkeeping obligations. You may request deletion of your information at any time, subject to records we are required to retain by law.
Your Rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of certain uses of your information. California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what information is collected and the right to request deletion; we do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 12.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect the information you provide, including encrypted transmission. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
This Site is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
